We collect only the information necessary to create and deliver your personalized storybook. We do not require you to create an account. The information is collected when you place an order.

A. Information You Provide to Us:

  • For Character Creation: Child's first name (or a nickname), age, character's gender, eye color, and a photograph of the child.
  • For Order Fulfillment & Delivery: Your name (the purchaser), your email address, and the recipient's name and shipping address.

B. Information Collected Automatically:

  • Usage Data: We use Google Analytics to collect anonymized information about how you interact with our website. This data helps us improve our Service and is not linked to your personal order information.
  • Cookies: Like most websites, we use cookies to operate and analyze our Service. See Section 8 for details.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your personal information is used exclusively for the following purposes:

  • To Fulfill Your Order: To generate the custom story and illustrations, print the book, and ship it to the specified address.
  • To Communicate With You: To send order confirmations, shipping updates, and to respond to your customer service inquiries or refund requests.
  • To Maintain Our Service: To moderate submissions for safety and appropriateness and to ensure our Service is functioning correctly.
  • For Marketing (With Your Consent): We may use the final, AI-generated images and story excerpts (never your original photograph) for marketing purposes, but only if you do not opt-out.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We only share information with trusted third-party service providers to help us operate our Service.

  • Typeform: We use Typeform to securely collect your order details and character information through an embedded form on our website.
  • OpenAI: We securely transmit the character details and photo to OpenAI’s API for the sole purpose of generating the story and illustrations.
  • Printing & Shipping Partners: We provide the recipient's name and shipping address to our printing and fulfillment partners.
  • Stripe: Processes your payment information securely. We do not see or store your credit card details.
  • Google Analytics: Processes anonymized usage data to provide us with website analytics.

These partners are contractually obligated to protect your data and are prohibited from using it for any other purpose.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Your original uploaded photograph is permanently deleted from our active systems within 30 days of your order's fulfillment. We retain other order details as long as necessary to handle potential customer service issues and for our business records.

6. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Our Service is intended for purchase by adults over the age of 18. We are fully compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

  • Verifiable Parental Consent: You represent that you are the parent, legal guardian, or have obtained permission from one. Under COPPA, methods that ensure the person providing consent is an adult are required. By completing payment for your order, you are providing verifiable parental consent and confirming you are authorized to provide the child's information. This financial transaction serves as your signature of consent.
  • Limited Use: The child’s information is used solely to create the personalized product.
  • Deletion Right: If we discover we have collected a child's information without the required parental consent, we will delete it. Parents can request to review or delete their child's information at any time by contacting us.
